Zeca Polina is a singer-songwriter from Belo Horizonte (Brazil) who has experimented with the groovy flavours of his country’s drums from an early age. First introduced to the magic of playing musical instruments through capoeira, he learned pandeiro, atabaque and berimbau as a child. Passionate about the beating soul of music, Zeca has since ventured to explore other instruments on his music journey, such as the drum kit, guitar, ukulele, cavaquinho, bass and piano. You can find Zeca on stage, bringing people of all ages together to the dance floor with his tropical rock band Zeca and The Hydroponic Lizards and various other musical projects.
Born in Victoria (BC, Canada), Adam Hutchison moved to Toronto in the early 2000s where he has remained an active member of Toronto’s melting-pot of music styles and rhythms. A graduate of the Humber Jazz program, Adam brings an improvisatory approach to his guitar playing, while respecting and celebrating the well-established traditions imported by its ever-growing, and blossoming immigrant community. As a frequent collaborator with many Brazilian and Jamaican musicians, Adam can be seen on stage regularly with such Afro-Brazilian drum groups as Maracatu Mar Aberto and T-Dot Batu, or with international Reggae artists such as Juno Award winner Exco Levi, and Busy Signal. In more intimate settings, he can be found revelling in his love of acoustic Brazilian fingerstyle guitar, playing classics from Forro, Samba, Bossa-Nova, to Chorinho and Popular Brazilian Music (MPB).
